Bowling Shoes Soles

[phpzon]Bowling Shoes Soles, 30, SportingGoods[/phpzon] Can Vans shoes be used for bowling?

I was asked to wear shoes that are appropriate for bowling and that apparently means shoes with white soles. I wanted to know if the bottom of my Vans shoes would be appropriate. I found a picture on some website of what the soles of the shoes look like, for those of you who don't know. http://shoesview.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/vans-era-core-classic-1.jpg

When I bowled professionally and had a knee injury that would aggravate my tendonitis, I changed my style to one where I would just plant my feet at the foul line without the need to slide. That's where I started using "Vans" type tennis shoes with the laces. There was one notable bowler with the same approach bowling in the same PBA region, and it is PBA national tour champion Michael Haugen Jr., who bowled for titles wearing Vans. I have since returned back to wearing regulation bowling shoes as my knee has improved. Vans do not have marking soles, they don't leave any rubber residue on either wood or synthetic approaches and can be a substitute for regular bowling shoes as long as they're not also worn outdoors. Good luck!
