If you use a very aggressive ball on dry lanes (not enough oil), the friction will slow down or stop the rotation of the ball so it won't hook (curve) very much. As for where to get them, I'd say your pro shop would be your best bet. Elite isn't the biggest or most popular company out there so I think you'll have to do a little searching around.
