  4. Retrobowler says:

but now they made a new synthetic pin called twister that are more durable

  5. KnebelsHerbert says:

Sure it does. One tree per pin. :)

  6. tux937534 says:

Is it true then that it takes a tree to make a single pin?

  7. bigkellyr says:

I used to be a “pin chaser” back in the early 1980′s. One night one of the lanes’ automatic pin setter was on the fritz ( it would not cycle properly) so I had to sit on the machine for 4 hours during league play flipping the switch to activate the pin setter cycle. Man I had the biggest headache after.

  8. Ormaaj says:

I would imagine setting the pins takes longer as you drink more beer. Probably takes a few tries without knocking them all down.

  9. jimmy199244 says:

well at eastbourne the lanes break down every 5 minutes!!

  16. bowlingwaldo says:

Wow… thats so much different than the old A-2′s we use at our alley, looks much more reliable… those things are 40 years old and we have to fix them constantly

  17. coondogtheman1234 says:

Very cool i saw this on TV once, a show where they showed you the inner workings of pinsetter machines, very interesting stuff.

  18. StingRhea says:

  20. NGC500 says:

I bowl at hanover lanes…. Lol. Couldnt be much worse of mechanics there. Took 50 mins the other week for them to do a simple ball return. Its not like the ball was underground. it was just sitting on the shakerboard and took 50 mins for them to get it. … pathetic, and they never fix the lanes. Crap crap crappity crap…. I also drive by the Qubica factory on the way there lol

  21. jonnyeis says:

  22. MBM111 says:

  23. wahoo423 says:

awesome, i learnt a lot i thought the arm was bent and they used a setter to place the pins in the corrct spot

  24. 54spiritedwill54 says:

    This was indeed interesting!

  25. slb785 says:

Yeah i know lol. I really shouldnt of gone posting stuff on this right after getting home from work. I just didnt like how underappreciated they make “pin chasers” like me feel. Heh, i work hard to be a mechanic, not just a guy there to catch calls
